Running wild in the bush
by Matt Allbeury

It was just after dawn and there was a heavy mist covering the hills as we pushed deeper into the bush. But then our run became something unexpected, we glimpsed our first kangaroo through the mist, and then another, and another, we were running wild!

Starting at the base of the hills in the suburb of Burnside, then climbing up to just over 700 metres to Mt Lofty, before heading back via Chambers Gully and making up a wonderful half marathon route.

Running around the Adelaide Hills is always such a treat, amazing flora and fauna and only a few kilometres from the city!

Matt runs for the thrill of being outdoors, preferably outdoors with a hill or two or maybe even a small mountain.  Throw in some wild animals and it's like a little bit of Christmas!
